Amazon Rain™ - Your Questions Answered

1. Why are natural products better for my skin?

Our skin is our largest organ. Everything we put on our skin is absorbed into the body. Natural products are more easily recognized and utilized by the skin. More research is coming out on the harmful effects of synthetic skin care ingredients not only for our skin, but for our overall health as well. Amazon Rain™ skin care products are free of synthetic chemicals and preservatives, alcohol, harsh detergents, waxes, parabens, mineral oil, lanolin and artificial fragrances and colors.

2. Can the products be used for all ages and skin types

Yes. The Amazon Rain™ skin care system has been designed to be flexible. To customize, simply adjust how much of each product you use. The system is easily personalized to fit every age, skin type and environmental condition.

3. Are Amazon Rain™ products organic

Amazon Rain™ skin care products use ingredients that are organic and ingredients that are wild-crafted. Wild-crafted botanicals are preferred because they are harvested wild in their natural environment. They are collected by hand in an ecologically-sustainable manner. Either way—organic or wild-crafted—they are never treated with pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.

4. How do you stabilize the products without chemical preservatives?

Amazon Rain™ uses natural stabilizers such as aspen pine bark and concentrated essential oils to preserve the products and ensure the natural activity of the formulas.

5. Why are you using plastic bottles?

The plastic we are using is called ABS, which is a heavy-duty glass alternative that makes for lighter packaging. It is recyclable and prevents oxidation for longer shelf life of the product. Considered superior for its resistance and toughness, the new bottles reduce the risk of breakage and the lighter weight is great for traveling. This plastic alternative also gives us the ability to use the new airless pumps. It allows you to get every last drop out of your bottle and reduces the chance for clogged or bent pipes and spillage.

6. What is the best way to store my Amazon Rain™ products?

It is best to store skin care products in a cool, dry place. We use natural ingredients. Natural products may separate or change color. Simply shake or stir before using to re-integrate and energize the natural ingredients.

7. Will there be batch-to-batch variations due to the wild-crafted ingredients?

Since we're using only wild-crafted and organic ingredients in our skin care products, there is a slight chance for variations in consistency or color from batch to batch. This is based on the maturity stage of the ingredient at the time of harvesting. We do, however, have quality control procedures in place that keep any batch-to-batch variations to a minimum.

8. How can using products from the Amazon Rainforest help preserve the Rainforest?

We advocate the preservation of Rainforests by promoting the use of sustainable and renewable botanical resources. By creating an income stream for Rainforest communities for herbal ingredients in Amazon Rain™ products, the native people have new opportunities to make choices about their future. One of our projects assists communities in acquiring deeds and titles for their land.

A portion of all sales from Amazon Rain™ products goes toward our "Deeper than Beauty" program, which helps fund organizations like the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre and the Amazon Center for Environmental Education & Research (ACEER).

9. Why was the Camu C Serum™ formula changed?

The Camu C Serum™ formula has not changed, except for a shift from an already natural preservative to a more effective natural preservative. Working very closely with our skin care formulator Bunnie Gulick, we have created some new Quality Control procedures that assure more batch-to-batch consistency in Color, Viscosity, pH and Aroma.

10. Will there be larger wholesale containers available of the Amazon Rain™ formulas for spas and will there be professional wholesale pricing available to retailers who would like to sell the Amazon Rain™ products in spas, health clubs, salons, etc.?

Yes, there will be larger wholesale containers, but they won't be available for a while longer. There will also be professional customer pricing available to retailers who sell from businesses such as spas, health clubs and salons. Look for more details to come in the future.

11. Will the new Business Builder Pack and Leader Pack include the Amazon Rain™ Camu C Serum™ or the original Lluvia™ Camu C Serum™?

The new Business Builder Pack and Leader Pack will include the original Lluvia™ Camu C Serum™ until supplies run out. Thereafter, the new Amazon Rain™ Camu C Serum™ will take its place.

12. Will customers and Distributors still be able to purchase Amazon Rain™ from the Distributor's corporate replicated Amazon Herb Website or does it have to be sold exclusively through the AmazonRain.net website?

Customers and Distributors can order Amazon Rain™ products from the Distributors' replicated Amazon Herb Company websites.

13. I really like the new color of the Amazon Rain™ containers and the sizes. Just wanted to know the material the containers are made of?

The containers are made of a plastic called 'ABS'. It is a newer type of plastic, known to be non-reactive, and because it is lighter weight, it consumes less fossil fuel during transport and reduces our carbon footprint.

14. Is there a chance of having a healthy sunscreen as part of the Amazon Rain™ product line in the future?

While Amazon Rain™ ingredients, such as Samambaia, Sangre de Drago and Uña de Gato, have been scientifically proven to reduce the damaging effects of sun exposure, they are not measured on a standard SPF scale. Using an additional sunscreen does not hurt the effectiveness of our natural formulas. We may look to introduce a product that includes SPF under the Amazon Rain™ product line in the future.

15. Will the formulations be more consistent in color and smell than in the past?

Working very closely with our skin care formulator Bunnie Gulick, we have created some new Quality Control procedures that assure more batch-to-batch consistency in Color, Viscosity, pH and Aroma.

16. Are the Amazon Rain™ ingredients the same in quality and quantity as the original Lluvia™ products?

While the superior quality remains unchanged in all formulas, the quantity will slightly vary for some of the products as we transition to industry standard sizes. By making this shift, we can incorporate airless pumps, reduce shipping cost, and – ultimately - reduce our carbon footprint.

17. Will the product ingredients/formula change?

The ingredients remain unchanged. The change from an already natural preservative to a more effective natural preservative already happened in the current batch, so there is no change from the current batch to the new Amazon Rain products.

18. What will the prices be for Amazon Rain™?

While the prices of our Lluvia™ products have not increased over the past 6 years, the cost for making the products has (in some cases, dramatically). A new price structure will be in place under the new compensation plan effective October 1st, including retail, preferred and professional customer pricing as well as Distributor pricing. More details on this will follow.

19. When will the new eye gel be coming out?

We are working on packaging and production and expect for the new eye gel to be available this fall.

20. What other products are on tap for the future?

There are 6 or 7 new products under development, but all these take many months for final formulations and field testing on a wide variation of skin types. So be patient but be sure we're working on them now.

21. Is the plastic being used made from recycled plastics, or is this newly made plastic?

It is not 100% made from recycled plastics, but it is 100% recyclable.

22. Can you provide some info on how this plastic is not going to interact with the products and degrade over time?

We do have the assurance of our manufacturer and have tested it in-house over a long period of time. If this new kind of plastic, completely un-reactive with essential oils, had not been developed, we would still be using glass. As a matter of fact, many other high-end cosmetic companies are now using the exact same plastic and our formulator, Bunnie Gulick, uses it in her own line of products as well.

23. Does the plastic have any chemicals that can be released into the product if the bottles heat up in the sun?

Research indicates that ABS plastic does not release any chemicals in its solid form (bottle). When heated to temperatures of 221° F (105° C) or higher, ABS plastic will melt, in which case chemicals may be released. However, these conditions are highly unlikely to occur in our natural daily environment. ABS plastic is commonly used in furniture, cars, radios, TV's - even safety helmets - all around the world.
